NPW Management Team

The Board of Trustees delegates the day-to-day running of NPW to the leadership team. Their job is to deliver according to our values and mission statement and manage staff.

Anna Crispin, Chief Executive, NPW Management Team

Anna joined NPW in 2014 as the Chief Executive Officer. NPW was formed as a mutual owned by schools from the traded services for schools in Newham in 2012 and is a leading, provider of educational support services in East London.

Prior to her current role, Anna was Director of Schools at CfBT from 2012 – 2014.

CfBT Education Trust is a UK charity that has worked in more than 80 countries and employs more than 3,300 staff worldwide on projects that range from reforming national level education to improving the performance of an individual school.

Anna was Chief Education Officer, London Borough of Hillingdon from 2010 – 2012 and Head of Education and Childcare at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Previously, Head Teacher in a secondary school in Southwark.

She started her career after studying at UCL and has an MA in Education Management from the Institute of Education.

Alan Merry, Head of School Support and Relationship Management, NPW Management Team

Alan has been Head of School Support and relationship Management for NPW since July 2012. His team provides a wide range of services to support schools. Alan is responsible for the overall development and delivery of the service and manages the provision of training/meeting rooms and business support for NPW.

Prior to working with NPW he worked for the London Borough of Newham for a number of years. He started his career with the Inner London Education Authority/GLC after studying in Newham and held management posts in the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority and the London Borough of Havering. Alan has become known to many as the “Health and Safety Guru” due to his extensive theory and practical knowledge of the subject and is accredited with a lively and engaging style in his training sessions.

Louise Howard, Head of Schools HR, NPW Management Team

Louise started as Head of Schools HR in September 2015 and has over 20 years’ experience working at a senior level within HR. She has significant experience of working with schools on a range of strategic and operational issues.

Prior to joining NPW, she managed the Education HR service for another East London Local Authority, providing a range of statutory and traded services to maintained and academy schools as well as to a number of schools in the surrounding area.

Louise has a breadth of experience in change management, employee relations, TUPE arrangements, academy conversions and policy development, together with experience in workforce strategy, planning and information. Louise has also previously worked in senior positions within the NHS and Social Services. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD). Louise holds a first degree in Cultural Anthropology and a Master’s Degree in Employment Law (LLM).

Paul Baglee, Head of Governance and Operations, NPW Management Team

Paul has been head of Governor Services for NPW since July 2012, his team deliver a comprehensive range of training, clerking and advisory services to an increasing number of schools. He is also company secretary and an Associate member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Before working for NPW he worked for the London Borough of Newham from 1983 to 2012 and has over 25 years experience in supporting school governors through a plethora of legal and regulatory changes. More recently he has led the development of governance and company secretarial services for academies and multi academy trusts.

Asif Mangera, Head of Education ICT and Transformation, NPW Management Team

Asif joined NPW from Islington Council in February 2016.

Asif has held leadership positions within ICT over the last 13 years across various local authorities and within the managed services sector.

Leading large ICT teams and change within an enterprise environment, Asif has a breadth of experience and knowledge covering the delivery of ICT and transforming practices to ensure value is realised from ICT.

Asif has highly regarded qualifications within the ICT sector including the ITIL Expert Certificate and the Practitioner Certificate in Management of Risk. Asif is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in IT Service Management.

As an ex-student of Newham, Asif feels right at home and his passion is to "deliver a high quality ICT service to transform the lives of young people".
